Fall Trends: You're My Riding Star

by: Heather

As fall enters the horizon, there are many things to get excited about. Obviously, we are focused on fashion! Trading in our sundresses, sandals and neons for riding boots, cardigans and tweed is always bitter sweet but with every season comes its turn and we are ready to welcome the autumn change. Looking at the upcoming Fall trends one that really sticks out is the shift towards all things equine. From horse prints to preppy cuts there are many ways to play up this look with things you have and also with items you can order from our store (how convenient!)
Fall Trend Guide: Equestrian Hawt

If you have a few minutes, check out the video below of Tommy Hilfiger's equestrian inspired Fall 2012 line. The house did so well in blending together several hot fall trends (rich and deep colors, textures, structured cuts, and preppy patterns) showing us the best of the season. Here are some additional looks from NYFW.

How will you be rocking the preppy equestrian trend this season?

What is it exactly about polka dots that makes them so irresistable?
I am constantly on the look out for them... and perhaps that's why there always seem to be a good supply for sale in acrewd e-boutique.
Nail art is a trend that has really made a comeback this year. We, for one, are very thankful for this resurgence of such a fab trend.  Polka dot nails are refreshing and fun! They are a great conversation starter and provide a playful look.

Polka dots are amazingly simple to style; they are versatile yet they make a statement. Showing some more polka dot love...

Streetstyle Saturday: Lauren Staley Morrow of The Whiskey Gentry

by: Heather

What makes you tap your toes? For us it's many things. Great style (of course), a women with a strong voice, and high energy music just to name a few. On this installment of Streetstyle Saturdays, we get all those things in one with Lauren, the woman who lends her vocals to local new era country/bluegrass/punk band The Whiskey Gentry.

Check out one of my favorite songs, Eula Mae

This six-piece band packs the best of a good ole country sound, bluegrass energy and speed, and Lauren's vocals that Paste magazine described as, "Alternately delicate as a string of pearls and fierce as a jackhammer," which is pretty damn accurate. Combine that with the extremely talented instrumentals from Jason, Chesley, Sammy, Price and Michael and a few inspired punk covers and you have a one of a kind Atlanta band. But I digress...
This is really about style, unique style that Lauren has in abundance. What strikes me about her is how very representative of an Atlanta gal she is. A combination of playful style, vintage threads, great accessories and the staple cowboy boots. Here are some great looks:

So when I heard they would be closing the 2012 Grant Park Summer Shade Festival, I made sure to be there. Grant Park is my 'hood, so we made our way to one of the final outdoor festivals of the season with some friends for some local food, fresh brews and even fresher  tunes. Per usual, the crowd ranged from young to old and the easy neighborhood feel ensured that you would run into old friends and new (and even some family, if you look hard enough!). Below are some shots of the event, including my geeked out moment when I actually got to meet some of the folks from The Whiskey Gentry!

Such a fun way to spend the day! And so happy to nab a shot of great style on the streets of Atlanta. Thanks, Lauren and all The Whiskey Gentry folks for an awesome-tastic show!

It's All There, in Black and White

by: Heather

Normally, I'm a color hound but we all have those days when no color will do. That's when I turn to the classic, chic and oh so flexible black and white palate. The combination can be old movie glamorous (think Audrey and Marylin) or 80's wild child trendy. Played up with the right accessories, there are limitless possibilities with these patterns and solids. Here are just a few of our favorite items available right now in our store.
AND DON'T FORGET, we have our limited time Summer Shipping Extravaganza going on now until Sep 3, where all US Shipping is available free of charge and International shipping is a flat $10 USD! Nab some of these great deals while you still can!

Street Style Sunday: World Edition

by: Heather

This week rather than focusing on a single, local subject, I'd like to bring a collection of some particularly great streetstyle shots from a few of my favorite blogs:

Here we have photos capturing the styles of individuals from Buenos Aires, the UK, Chicago, New York and Stockholm. I love reading streetstyle blogs because it gives me such inspiration for what to wear (obviously), how to translate budding trends into everyday wardrobe choices, and it gives me a chance to admire the photography skills and scenery of a different city and land. I've always wanted to travel the world and this gives me a peak into the lifestyle of others in more exotic locales than myself. I do love Atlanta's style, and hope to bring more notice it to it through my streetstyle segments, but I guess I wanted to share a little of why street style is important to me and why I love it.
In essence, it makes me look for opportunities to create a beautiful picture of the people and places I see.

Long Live the Legacy

by: Heather

Source: purseblog

By now, most of us have snagged a peak at the Coach Legacy Collection, the fantastic evolution from the classic archives of Coach. The new line keeps the classic lines and bold colors that were a staple of the vintage predecessor. Yes, the logo lines are still wonderful but they have been seen on the arms of every suburban preteen to their mom and it's good to get a break. A return to the classic turn lock and iconic straps is a breath of fresh air - not your normal revamping and very true to what Coach says about the line, "Classic yet completely new." Check here and here if you want to read more about the bags and accessories. Ooh and the mens collection is stellar too!

Seeing the Legacy Collection brings me back to some of the vintage classics that I've found over the years. Purses and clutches are items I am always looking for while thrifting and rare purses and vintage Coach handbags are at the top of the list. Nothing compares to the old leathers, the suede linings and the quality turn lock closures. The colors even seem to get richer over time. Here are some photos of classic Coach bags we previously sold on our eBay store:

And here are a few we have available on our store now:

So we gotta ask, do you prefer the old or the new?
